ALTUS, OK (KSWO) - A woman and her child were hospitalized after they crashed into a drainage ditch in Altus.

Officials say the crash happened around 1 am Wednesday morning on a half-mile west of South County Road 198.

They say the pickup had crossed through the field at a high speed, before crashing head-on into the ditch.

The female driver and her 4-year-old son were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The driver's husband told authorities she had taken the truck without permission.

The truck was impounded, and authorities are now investigating the crash.
