Johnston Co. man shot by deputy now in jail

TISHOMINGO, OK (KSWO)- An Oklahoma man was shot by a Johnston County sheriff’s deputy in Tishomingo when he walked toward officers with a knife in his hand.

On March 25th Officers were called to a Tishomingo apartment complex after Joses “Ricky” Rice Beck, 29, assaulted a handicapped man and broke into a woman’s apartment.  When he was commanded to drop the knife, he refused and a deputy shot Beck two times. He was taken to a Plano hospital.

Today, Beck was released from the hospital and taken to the Collin County jail on a warrant for one count of burglary, one count of assault and battery, one count of aggravated assault and battery, and three counts of assault on a police officer.
