OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (KSWO)- The Oklahoma City Police Department has released video of the department's first officer-involved shooting since police started wearing body cameras again.

The shooting took place last month when an OKC officer and an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper shot and killed a suspect who had stolen a truck and led authorities on a high-speed chase.

The video shows the officer telling dispatch that the suspect crashed the vehicle and threw it in reverse toward him. That's when the officer and trooper fired, hitting the suspect.

Authorities say the man proved to be dangerous during the chase.

"After seeing the video, it is intense, he's blowing stop lights, stop signs, barely missing citizens,” said Lt. Kera Philippi of the OHP.

The Oklahoma County District Attorney will now determine if the shooting was justified. Both the trooper and police officer are on administrative leave during the investigation.
