ANADARKO, OK (KSWO)-A report by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is now revealing more details on an officer involved shooting in Anadarko back in February that left a suspect dead.
The shooting was found to be justified.
According to the report, officers Eric Harlan and James Coker were responding to a disturbance call at a home in Anadarko when Henry Hunter came towards the officers with a knife. Witnesses say Hunter was holding what looked like a machete and say he also had a hammer. When officer Harlan commanded Hunter to stop, that's when Hunter lunged towards them and Officer Harlen fired three rounds killing Hunter.
An autopsy revealed Hunter had alcohol, along with methamphetamine and amphetamine in his system at the time of his death.
The report also says Hunter had a history of being violent and fighting with officers. He also had prior convictions relating to assaulting officers.
Officers Harlan and Coker have been reinstated to full duty.
