Re-Creation performs hits from the 30s, 40s, 50s at Lawton Veteran’s Center

LAWTON, OK (KSWO)- At the Veteran's Center, a special performance took residents back in time.

The performing group, Re-Creation put on a show. They travel to veteran's centers all across the country every year.

This year, their theme was 'school days'. They performed songs from the 1930's, 40's, and 50's.

The performers hope the show reminds veterans they are appreciated and not forgotten:

“Doing something for the veterans just hits everybody in the heart because they are our heroes and some of them came back from war unappreciated and to hear their stories and thank them for their service is really impacting,” explained Nickolas Marolf, the stage manager of Re-Creation.

So far this year, Re-Creation has been to about 25 states and done some 200 shows since it started in 1976.
