Duncan hosts annual car show

DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) - The city of Duncan kicked off their 10th annual "Cruisin' the Chisholm Trail" car show.

The event, held every third weekend in April, lets car lovers show off and celebrate their vehicles in a special cruise down Main Street.

This years show introduces a new "just for fun" category, which lets in anything with a motor or wheels, from bicycles to motorboats.

Vendors and businesses are also on site to provide food, entertainment and games for attendees.

Main Street Duncan executive director Destiny Ahlfenger said the city is happy to host the car show each year, for all the good it brings to the city.

"We have something for people who want something to do on the weekend in Duncan in their home, so we're blessed to offer this to them for ten years now, she said.

Ahlfenger also explained that, thanks to out-of-town traffic coming in to see the show, the event also boosts the local economy.

The car show began Friday evening with the cruise and a burnout contest.
Events will continue all day Saturday starting at 8 a-m.
