CANADIAN COUNTY, OK (KSWO)- A deputy in Canadian County says saving a drowning child Friday was the best day of his career so far.

A woman who'd driven into floodwaters was trapped underwater, in an overturned car with her 4 and 2-year-old inside.  When the deputy arrived, about four to five men were already trying to lift the car up out of the water.  They were able to revive the drowning 2-year-old using CPR.

“The first thing I remember seeing at the time was a lifeless child hanging upside down in her car seat… It was really hard for her to breath and as her pulse got stronger and her breathing got better — and man I remember when that baby started to cry it was amazing,” said Chris Findley with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Department.

The children's mother says that the 2-year-old was released from the hospital Saturday and that they are both fine now.
