Film spotlighting Christians in Bethlehem premieres 4/27 at CU

LAWTON, OK (KSWO)- On April 27th, you're invited to a screening of the documentary Christians of Palestine: Life Behind the Wall.

Created by Cameron University student, Mary Davis, the film shows a different perspective of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict that you won't hear about in the American media.

Davis traveled to Bethlehem and Jerusalem and interviewed Christian Palestinians including the Mayor of Bethlehem.

You'll hear about the political issues they face and discrimination they deal with living behind the occupation wall and how it affects their daily lives.

“I felt it as a moral obligation for me being Palestinian Christian raised here in the United States, and also, because my great-grandfather Ayyub Mussallam, was a former mayor of Bethlehem, and I knew that I had connections there. My first visit to the Holy Land was producing and directing this film,” said Davis.

The screening is set for this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Cameron University Theater. Admission is free! This is the first showing before Davis submits the documentary to film festivals across the country.
