Pecan Creek VFD will host golf scramble April 28th

LAWTON, OK (KSWO)- Attention golfers, the clock is ticking for you to sign up for a tournament this weekend and it's for a great cause!

The Pecan Creek Volunteer Fire Department will hold their second annual two-man scramble golf tournament on Friday. You can enjoy a bar-b-que lunch at noon at the Lawton Municipal Golf Course followed by the 18-hole scramble.

The money raised will be used to help fund the establishment of the Pecan Creek VFD.

"VFD's aren't hired, they all volunteer, give their own time. Takes a lot of money to get set up. We've been blessed by other FD's giving us trucks and equipment. We have brush and water trucks and qualified people to work. We're in good shape. We'll serve that area real good,” said Joe English with Pecan Creek VFD.

There is a 40 team limit and there are only a few spots left! To sign up, call the golf course at 580-353-4493. It will cost you $100 for a two-man team. Tee off is at one o'clock this Friday afternoon.
