Corum VFD hosts annual BBQ meat and greet fundraiser on April 29th

CORUM, OK (KSWO)- Happening this weekend, the Corum Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their annual meat and greet fundraiser.

It's taking place this Saturday at 11.  They'll be having a big barbecue lunch followed by a board meeting.  It is free but donations are gladly accepted.

The volunteer department recently got a new fire engine from the forestry service. They're looking to raise money to get it in-service and available for use:

“That's our goal that's how much it's going to cost to rig up the new truck about 15,000 so any money we make is going to go towards that so that's what we're shooting for,” explained Kevin Lindesmith, the fire chief of the CVFD.

The fire chief says their resources were greatly depleted from the last wildfire season - and that every little bit helps. Again, it's this Saturday at 11.
