OK (KSWO)- An Oklahoma state representative is exploring a plan that could send millions of dollars to the federal government to help pay for the US Mexico border wall.

Representative Bobby Cleveland says money taken from civil asset forfeitures in the state could be used for the process. He believes that could be anywhere between $10 and $15 million a year.

"Get with our congressional delegation to see how we can do this, to send that money to help build a wall," said Cleveland.

The Canadian County Sheriff says this would take funds away from his department. He said many agencies across Oklahoma use that money to pay for training and staffing, or other things their budget can not afford to pay for.
