PERRY, OK (KSWO)- Court hearings for a former Oklahoma teacher and principal accused of not reporting child abuse are set to take place next month.
The prosecution in Perry is asking the judge in the case to recuse himself. His daughter-in-law was subpoenaed for one hearing because she is a teacher at the elementary school where the abused reportedly took place. The judge said he needs to hear his daughter-in-law's testimony before making a decision on recusal.
This all stems from a case earlier this year in which a former teaching aide at the elementary school told officers he inappropriately touched several students. Those children told authorities that they previously told their principal and teacher about the abuse, and both did not report the crime.
