City restores more servers affected by computer virus

LAWTON, OK (KSWO)-As the City of Lawton works to restore all of its servers after they went down from a computer virus, the Lawton Public Library could have its servers back up by the end of the week.

City officials say IT teams have restored 26 of the 33 servers so far.

The Lawton Police Department and Lawton Fire stations 2 through 8 are still hindered in terms of communication.

Officials say even though the police department's servers were made a priority, they hold a large amount of data and it takes longer to clean and repair their servers.

The police chief says, despite digital setbacks they continue to complete their duties to their full extent.
