Man arrested after Saturday morning hit-and-run

UPDATE: Brewer was arrested by Odessa police just before 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.

UPDATE: Police have identified the driver of the Taurus. They are looking for Cory Brewer, 36. 

OPD has obtained a warrant for failing to stop and render aid for accident involving death and failing to stop and render aid for accident involving serious bodily injury. 

Maranda Thurmond, 19, the motorcycle passenger remain in critical condition.

An early Saturday morning crash has left a man dead and a woman in critical condition. 

Odessa first responders were called out to the scene just after 2 a.m. We're told once they arrived their investigation concluded a black Honda CBR motorcycle and a white Ford Taurus were involved. 

When the driver of the Taurus attempted to turn left onto Clover from E. 42nd Street the driver of the motorcycle struck the back right side of the passenger side of the car. 

Devin Sandoval, 22, who was driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman passenger with him was transported to Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries 

The driver of the Taurus left the scene and failed to render aid. At this time no arrests have been made.

This investigation is ongoing and this story will be updated as more information becomes available.
