LAWTON, OK (KSWO)- Pre-Halloween festivities kicked off at Lawton First Church of the Nazarene Trunk-or-Treat.

Parents and kids looking for a different way to take part in the holiday fun stuck out their pumpkin buckets to cars trunks instead of ringing doorbells.

Cars were decorated as race tracks, cupcakes, Star Wars and more.

Kids were even able to roll fake dice to determine how many pieces of candy they got.

Pastor Brock Greenhill said the day was about meeting people in the community, spreading Gods love and having fun!

"Just an opportunity to meet us as a church,” said Greenhill. “We're not here for the Halloween and what all that means, but we're just here to provide just an opportunity for kids to come get candy and just show them that we love them."

Pastor Greenhill said this is the second year they've held the trunk or treat event but it won't be the last.

They plan to do the same event again next year.
