Cameron academic festival continues in Duncan

DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) - Cameron University continued Academic Festival X in Duncan with a special panel on America's place in cancer research.

The panel was held Monday evening at the Duncan Regional Hospital.

Panelists included prominent oncologists, who discussed the state of cancer research in America and how the U.S. contributions impact the rest of the world.

CU assistant professor and panel moderator Dr. Wendy Whitman Cobb says tonight's event encapsulates the spirit of the academic festival an examination of the modern American identity.

"I think what makes this unique is that this can involve a lot of different aspects of our academic and community life in looking in what American Identity really means to us, she said.

The academic festival continues Thursday at the Cameron CETES conference center with a discussion on America and global economic leadership.
