Velma residents injured in rollover

PITTSBURGH CO, OK (KSWO) - Two people from Velma were injured in Pittbsurgh County Tuesday afternoon after their pickup rolled off a highway.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol says they were traveling on State Highway 43 south of Hartshorne.

Troopers say 66-year-old Michael Perkins fell asleep behind the wheel, causing the pickup to go off the road, hit an embankment and roll onto its side.

He and his passenger, Ernaida Perkins, were taken to a nearby hospital.
She was later treated and released.
