DUNCAN, OK (KSWO)- Before you toss your Halloween pumpkins, you might consider sending them to Duncan.
Kristine Wilson is asking for your carved and whole pumpkins to feed the many animals on her place. She has five adult goats, a baby buckling, and three dozen chickens, guineas, and ducks. Last year, she fed her animals pumpkins and said they loved it! And, it keeps them from going to waste.
"It's the same reason it's important to compost-- we have to limit carbon footprint. Good way to supplement their diet, save my food bill. They aren't as bored and it helps the environment."
You can call Wilson at home at 580-786-0494 to get your pumpkins to her.
She says she can take about 10 carved pumpkins but she'll find room for some that are uncarved. The pumpkins will stay longer that way and she can keep them in storage for a few months.
