Cameron concert being held to benefit new scholarship

A benefit concert is set to take place on Saturday at Cameron University to help raise money for a scholarship in the name of an exchange student who was killed earlier this year.

Artist Korede Bello will be performing at the Cameron University Theater starting at 5 pm. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the scholarship in honor of Abideme Adewunmi Farotade. Farotade was shot and killed earlier this year. His murder has still not been solved.

The Cameron University Nigerian Student Association said the scholarships will be setup to help students from Africa who want to come to Cameron to get their college education.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at or by calling 435-772-2773. Student and military tickets are $25. General admission tickets prior to the show are $30. Tickets prices on the day of the show are $40.
