LAWTON, OK (KSWO)- Feed the Children is coming to Lawton for the second straight year and they're bringing enough food to feed 400 families.

The families have already been selected and will come with vouchers in hand. Now, all they need to make this event run smoothly are volunteers.

"Right now the thing that we need more than anything else is volunteers. Volunteers will be there to help us get the product off of the truck, set it up and then help us with distribution, help those people who receive the product actually get it to their cars,” said SW OK Continuum of Care Director Jervis Jackson.

The No Hungry Holidays event is this Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Cameron Baptist Church. They're hoping for 75 to 80 volunteers, so if you're free just show up and they'll put you to work.

More than half of the 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank on a Branson lake were members of the same Indiana family, and they likely wouldn't have been on the ill-fated trip but for a ticket mix-up.
