A Child Who Hopes: Meet Arron

OK (KSWO)- An Oklahoma teenager is looking for a family tonight. He’s spent the past three years in and out of seven different foster homes.

7News reporter Haley Wilson introduces us to Arron at the Museum of the Great Plains.

"What was your favorite part?"

"The tornado thingy 'cause I've never been through a tornado and I've never heard of one."

From there, Arron took his time looking at each exhibit. He enjoyed the bug display, learning about farming, and taking a look back in time at how newspapers were printed and how phones worked back then. We also got to play a quick game of checkers but he spent the most time hammering out different designs on a rosette to take home.

Arron is 13-years old and enjoys being active. His favorite thing to do is play outside.

"Whenever I'm at home, I am outdoors or playing video games. I'm not on video games as much as I'm outside because I have a bike and I like to ride my bike around."

And when he's not enjoying the great outdoors, he's at school. He says his favorite subjects are writing and math.

"It's challenging once you get into it but once you get done with it, it's easy."

And when it comes to finding a family, Arron says he is not taking it lightly.

"I've been thinking about it and I'm feeling confident and stuff. It's just I have to have the right family."

And after spending three years in the system, finding them sooner rather than later is something he looks forward to.

"It would be really good for me because I don't want to be in the system as long anymore."

If you'd like to adopt Arron call DHS at 580-471-7942.
