DUNCAN, OK (KSWO)- Duncan Community Development wants to make sure everyone can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal this year. For the fifth year in a row, they're hosting a turkey dinner.
Duncan Community Development got together with community partners to collect donations that will feed over a thousand people! Each year, the event gets bigger and bigger.
The Vice President of the DCD says some just come out to volunteer but there are many different reasons to attend.
"Some come because they are having a hard time and could use a free meal, some like the fellowship, and some come because food is delicious," said Trevin Stevenson.
Stevenson stressed the importance of donations because without a generous community none of this would be possible.
If you'd like to eat some home-cooked food, just stop by the Delta Nutrition Center on 7th Street on November 11th. Carry out is from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. and dine in is from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. It is free to the whole community.
