Driver arrested after long chase with OHP

TILLMAN COUNTY, OK (KSWO) -  A man is behind bars after a chase with Oklahoma Highway Patrol that spanned several counties and lasted over half-an-hour Wednesday night.

It wrapped up a little after 8:30 p.m. OHP has identified the driver as 36-year-old Jerome Whittington. The chase started when Troopers tried to pull him over for speeding at State Highway 36 and US 70 in Cotton County.  It went through Grandfield and north to Chattanooga and then back south to Grandfield where Whittington was eventually arrested. Troopers reported he drove through at least three road blocks and was going more than 90-miles-an hour

Court records show he served time in prison for drug convictions in Tillman County in the early 2000's. The mugshot of Whittington in this story is from 2007.
