PERKINS, OK (KSWO)- A caretaker in Payne County was behind bars at last check after police say she threw away a resident's medicine at an assisted living center in Perkins.
Authorities say late last month, another employee noticed some pills in a trash can.
Police say they questioned the 18-year-old suspect but she did not admit to the crime.
That is until she saw the security footage.
She was fired on October 23rd, but just turned herself into authorities yesterday after charges were filed.
Payne County's district attorney says the suspect prayed on the vulnerable.
"It's your worst nightmare. You have your mom in there. You have your dad in there. You have your grandparents in there, and you're dependent on these people if you're living somewhere else," said Laura Thomas.
So far, two victims have been identified in the case. The suspect's motive is not clear.
If convicted, she could face up to a 10-year sentence.
