Midwestern State Volleyball falls to Texas A&M-Kingsville on Senior Night

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

Hot swinging Texas A&M-Kingsville claimed a four-set win over Midwestern State for its seventh win in its last nine matches Friday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
 
The Javelinas got 16 kills from junior Madison Brabham and 14 more from senior Lexi Wick as setter Casey Klobedans amassed 57 assists to lead TAMUK to a team hitting percentage of .265.
 
Still, MSU fought to stay within striking distance buoyed by a net game that produced nine total blocks including six from freshman Raven Presley and four more from Sarah Eakin.
 
The determined senior duo of Aerielle Edwards (16 kills, 12 digs) and Meghan Bettis (13 kills) accounted for 29 of the Mustangs' 44 kills.
 
Bettis, who clubbed 51 kills over her last three collegiate matches, moved past Caitlin Wallace (931 kills/2010-13) to close her career at No. 10 on the program's all-time kill list with 938.
 
Edwards moved from libero to outside hitter during the last week of the season to delivered nights with 23, 10 and 16 kills.
 
Senior Leah Lychock led back row efforts with 15 digs, while Kristan Aduddell narrowly missed a double-double with 37 assists and nine digs.
 
Midwestern State closes the season with a 15-16 overall record and 7-13 in league play.
