ONE YEAR LATER: Marlow woman's death still unsolved

MARLOW, Ok (KSWO) - After one year, the murder of a Marlow woman remains unsolved in Stephens County.

Linda Salazar, 20, was found murdered in a shed southwest of Marlow on November 7, 2016, after being reported missing the day before. Authorities said her throat had been cut and she had died from massive blood loss.

After her body was discovered, deputies said they were looking for a person of interest in the case by the name of Balthazar Sanchez-Garcia. Sanchez-Garcia was the ex-boyfriend of Salazar and the father of her 18-month-old daughter. Salazar’s family told 7News at the time of the murder that the two had broken up the month before and their relationship had often been abusive.
At the time, authorities believed Sanchez-Garcia left the area and possibly fled to Texas, Arizona, New Mexico or possibly across the border to Mexico.
Stephens County authorities say they have not yet been able to locate Sanchez-Garcia but the case is still active and they continue to follow leads as they receive them. The U.S. Marshals Service has also been enlisted to assist in the search for Sanchez-Garcia.
