Lawton voters approve $99.5 million school bond

LAWTON, OK (KSWO) - Voters in Lawton approved a $99.5 million dollar school bond on Tuesday.

The bond goes towards spending nearly $46 million to tear down and re-build a new Eisenhower Middle School in west Lawton. The remaining $53.5 million will be used on various projects across the district.

Lawton Public School's Superintendent Dr. Tom Deighan said he's happy and thankful it passed.

"On behalf of the Board of Education, our staff, and our students, I wish to thank the Lawton-Fort Sill community for your support of this very important Student Investment Program," Deighan said. "We are humbled at the results and endeavor to work even harder to merit your continued trust and support.  Thank you for proving that Lawton Can."
