DUNCAN, OK (KSWO)- Pathways to a Healthy Stephens County and Duncan Regional Hospital are helping smokers kick the habit to the curb.
To recognize the American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout, the two organizations set up in the hospital lobby and gave people information on smoking along with support to quit.
Several people stopped by the booth to celebrate their success and others came by and made a quit attempt.
"It's wonderful. My motto is we want to help one person at a time. And if we can help that one person and add 14 years to their life to spend with their family, friends, loved ones. That's all the reward I need," said Pathways Executive Director Kim Whaley.
If you missed today's event and are trying to quit, you can always call the Oklahoma Tobacco Help Line at 1-800-QUIT-NOW. A coach will pick up and take you through the steps to stop smoking.
