Former Lawton basketball player hosts camp

LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -A Lawton native with professional basketball skills hosted a camp for kids at Lawton High Saturday.

Burshaud Williams graduated from Lawton High back in 2000 and is now living in San Antonio. He's worked his way up from playing college basketball to being the Women's Minor League Basketball Associations Director of Operations.

About 80 kids from Lawton High kids in grades 4th - 12th had the chance to be coached by Williams and get better.

Williams hopes the students also take away more than just how they can get better on the court.

"I just hope they take away knowledge of the game," said Williams. "I am going to do some mentoring. Let them know about my storyline. How I was cut. I got kicked of my Junior year. I am going to let them know to stay humble in this game that you got to have a positive drive. You have to stay humble."

All of the campers took home a "San Antonio Play to Score" T-shirt.
