LAWTON, OK (KSWO) - It's officially Christmas in Lawton! The Holiday in the Park Parade brought in the season on Saturday evening. From Central Mall down 2nd Street, organizations, businesses, bands and folks just getting into the Christmas cheer with their floats and cars made their way to Elmer Thomas Park where Holiday in the Park is open from now until December 31st.
A participant dressed like a grape to represent GoGrapez said this is the first year he has been in the parade.
"They're excited to see Santa Claus, and it's pretty cool that everyone comes out to support the community," Dorian Long said. "Just to get out of the house to see Santa Claus, the angels and to see everyone taking their time putting into the floats. It's really cool."
There is still plenty of holiday events through the holiday season for Holiday in the Park! Check out their Facebook page for more information.
