A rollover crash on I-44 sent one person to the hospital on Friday morning.
It happened around 10 a.m. near Mile Marker 35 between Lee and 11th Street.
Lawton Police say the driver, Scott Zumwalt of Edmond, possibly fell asleep while traveling north on I-44. His truck crossed the center median, hitting the cable barrier and rolling over at least one time. Zumwalt was transported by Kirk's EMS to Comanche County Memorial Hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.
Traffic on I-44 was backed up while emergency personnel worked the accident. Workers from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation were on scene to assess the damage to the cable barriers in the center median of I-44. Both lanes were closed for a short time before one lane was able to be opened for traffic to flow normally.
