Colors casing ceremony held at Ft. Sill in preparation for move to South Korea

FORT SILL, OK (KSWO) - About 350 troops will be heading to South Korea after some extensive training on Fort Sill.

Wednesday, the 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery held their colors casing ceremony in preparation to move to Camp Casey in South Korea.
When the 2-20th Multiple-Launch Rocket System Unit came to Fort Sill, they had no equipment.

After getting a new set of guns, the Battalion got back to work training for the required certifications.
Lieutenant Colonel G. Damon Wells said it was the busiest unit he's worked in, in his 22 years of service.

"It's something new, Lt. Col. Wells said. It's not your typical Afghanistan/Iraq deployment. It's exciting. Stuff is going on around the Korean Peninsula so I think my soldiers are excited, I'm ready to go."

Lieutenant Colonel Wells said while there is tension on the Korean Peninsula, he said it hasn't caused a great concern.
The 2-20th Multiple-Launch Rocket System Unit will be in South Korea for 9 months.
