METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) -

The Krewe of Centurions prepared to roll a half-hour early Friday evening because of weather concerns that had Carnival organizations edgy all week.

The parade's theme is "Treasures of the Sea."

"Since all of a sudden it's clouding up, I'd say that's our biggest fear, but I think we're going to be okay. I think this is our best night. We took this night, so we're going to roll and have a good time," said Norman Bourgeois, captain of Centurions.

"You know, rain will come and go, so hopefully it will go before we start tonight. Oh, it's been a wonderful experience riding in the Krewe of Centurions. I'm a past king, and everyone enjoys themselves in this organization, so we're looking forward to tonight," said krewe officer Leonard Kinler.

"It's a good tradition and we do it every year. It's a great club, everybody enjoys being together and have a good time," said Krewe member Barbara Bourgeois.
