Robinson joins teachers from across the state for the annual award. All finalists are teachers of the year for their respective districts and were selected after their application packets were reviewed by a panel of educators, legislators and members of business and nonprofit organizations, according to a press release.

The winner of the award spends one year touring the state including participating in speaking engagements and working as the state's teacher ambassador. They strive to push others to become a teacher.
