LAWTON, Ok (RNN Texoma) - Cameron University held its annual CU Opportunity Fair Wednesday afternoon.
Students, alumni, and community members from all over southwest Oklahoma gathered in the McCasland Ballroom of the McMahon Centennial Complex on the Lawton campus. They do this every fall and it is open to everyone who is looking at job options.
Career Coordinator Paula Merrifield says even busy students can just shadow a company for a week. "Lawton has a lot to offer. There are some companies here that are willing to come out. You know a lot of these places, their time is valuable," said Merrifield. "And like KSWO, you guys allow our students to come out and shadow so the they get to experience something they possibly want to do."
Around 30 local companies met and interviewed qualified applicants for part-time jobs, internships or volunteer positions at this year's event. Merrifield says if you couldn't make it today but are looking for options come to Cameron University and talk to the career coordinators.
