CARNEGIE, OK (KSWO) - A man is dead and a woman is in a hospital after a stabbing on tribal land in Carnegie.
The FBI says the man and woman were both found near a house with multiple stab wounds. The identities of the two have not been released. The house was at the corner of East First Street and Bruce.
Christy Gutierrez lives across the street from the home the bodies were found near and says the area can be very dangerous.
"We have a swing set outside but I don't let them play out there. Just because our neighbors aren't very friendly or if they're friendly, I just don't know what's going to happen," Gutierrez said.
Gutierrez grew up on First Street in Carnegie and says in recent years, there have been major problems at the house.
"There are tons of men and women who would go over there in the evenings and just stay up until one or two in the morning," Gutierrez said.
Gutierrez said more often than not, fights would break out on the lawn and the police would be called.
"There's always fights over there. Sometimes I think it's a game or something because they'll fight and then the next person will jump in and fight. Then they're shaking hands and it's OK. It's very crazy sometimes and we're watching through the window like let's call the cops and by the time they get there they're gone or they're done," Gutierrez said.
With the constant problems, Gutierrez said Wednesday's events are not surprising.
"It was going to happen sooner or later I just didn't think it'd be that guy. I didn't think he'd be the one hurt, I thought it'd be the other way around," Gutierrez said.
Gutierrez said she'll have to find some way for her family to move forward.
"Just making sure our kids are safe and go outside with your kids and when you walk around I would carry a stick or something," Gutierrez said.
