Traffic stop leads to manhunt in Lawton

LAWTON-- A traffic stop turned into a manhunt Saturday night in Lawton. It happened when police tried to stop a car leaving a known crack house near 21st and McKinley. Before cops could get it stopped they say a male passenger jumped out and took off running.

Captain Jackie LaRoche, "We detained the driver. The driver had a loaded 45 caliber pistol in the car. Right now we have a manhunt going on for the passenger."

That was at about 6:15 Saturday night. Police believe the man may have ran because he had drugs on him. He's still on the loose.

The driver was arrested for transporting a loaded firearm. Police say he's already awaiting trial on an unrelated druf trafficking charge.
