Fort Sill holiday stroll

LAWTON-- It's Christmas time at Fort Sill. Sunday night the post held its annual candlelight stroll through the historic quadrangle.

The holiday tradition features interpretations from the 1870's period at the old fort. The stroll winds through the old post chapel, the post commanders quarters, and the old guard house.

Towana Spivey, museum curator, says, "It's an opportunity to see the 1870's military fort as it would look at nightime. It's a very different perspective than what you see in the daytime."

The experience wouldn't be complete without hot cider and cookies. The holiday stroll only happens once each year, so if you missed it tonight, be sure to plan for next Christmas.
