LONE WOLF-- His family says he was a bright young athlete who loved his two little sisters, as well as God and Jesus. The family of 8-year-old Charles Freeman III is mourning his death, but they say they're taking comfort that he's in heaven watching over them.
As we've reported throughout the weekend, Freeman was found dead Saturday afternoon in a pile of cottonseed hulls on his family's farm near Lone Wolf in Kiowa County.
By phone, his grandfather told 7-News that Charlie played in the pile many times before, but this time he apparently sank into it and suffocated. Investigators are calling it a tragic accident. Before he was found, more than 100 people searched several hours for Charlie.
