Crawford, Texas (AP) _ He says he's one step closer to putting a new Iraq strategy together, but President Bush says he's going to seek some more advice first. Bush met Thursday at his central Texas ranch with Vice President Cheney, Secretary of State Rice and others and he told reporters that they're making "good progress.''
But, he's not offering any details about the strategy, which he is set to announce to the nation after the first of the year.
Bush says he'll continue to consult with members of Congress, and with the Iraqis. He says it's important to have a government in Iraq that can deal with the militias and the rising violence.
