Murder suspect to be in court today

LAWTON-- The prime suspect in a weekend shooting death will be arraigned today in Comanche County court on a murder charge.   Michael "Fat Boy" Perkins recently turned himself in to Lawton police.

On Saturday afternoon, residents told police they heard shots fired coming from the Stratford Square Apartments in the 4300 block of Camelot on Lawton's east side.

Later, police got a call from an 8-year-old boy saying his mother had been shot.

When police got there, they found Krystal Woods, 24, shot to death, lying in a bed alongside her infant son.

Perkins is the father of both children.  Police say witnesses saw Perkins leave the apartment complex, after the shots were fired, with a gun in his waistband.  Police say Perkins confessed to shooting Woods, but did not lead police to the weapon.

The two children are staying with a relative at this time.
