OKLAHOMA CITY-- Governor Brad Henry says Oklahomans have chosen a design for the commemorative state quarter.

The choice features the state bird the scissor-tailed flycatcher; the state wildflower and the Indian blanket which is known as the Gaillardia pulchella.

The governor asked Oklahomans to vote online or by mail to his office and says more than 148-thousand votes were cast with the winning design getting more than 76-thousand votes.

The quarters honor each state in the union and are part of a series started by the U-S mint in 1999.

The Oklahoma quarter is to be issued next year.
