Injured sheriff's deputy released from hospital

COMANCHE COUNTY--The Comanche County Sheriff's deputy critically injured in a car crash on Friday has been released from the hospital. Sheriff Kenny Stradley tells 7-News that doctors were allowing Deputy Jeff Lovett to go home Sunday afternoon just two days after he was flown by helicopter to an Oklahoma City Hospital.

The sheriff says it will likely take several weeks for Lovett to recover from a bruised lung and broken ribs. Stradley believes Lovett's bullet proof vest kept his ribs from puncturing his lungs.
