Stephens County communication center gets a new leader

DUNCAN--The Stephens County communications center is on solid ground, after two relatively rocky years since its launch in 2005.  The Duncan city council voted unanimously to put a police supervisor, Sergeant John Webb,  in charge of the center.

The idea is to give the center stability and in turn, give citizens better service.  Right now, dispatchers at the communication center take calls for Duncan police, Duncan fire and water, in addition to calls from across the county.

Now, the Stephens County communication center is looking for three full-time dispatchers.  If you'd like to apply,  contact the city of Duncan at 580-252-0250.
