Local pools get ready to open

UNDATES--No more pencils, no more books in fact, no more school for a couple of months.  That means the city of Lawton parks and recreation crews are getting the public pools in shape and ready to open.

Lawton's municipal pool is planning to open Memorial Day at 1 pm, weather permitting. They plan to stay open five days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  The pools will be closed every Sunday and Monday for maintenance.

Lawton's municipal pool is on 11th Street, just north of Lee Boulevard.  There are also three wading pools and a spray park.   The city of Lawton needs lifeguards to man these pools. For information on those jobs, call the parks and recreation department at 581-3400.
