Folks in Duncan clean up after flooding

DUNCAN- Folks in Duncan are cleaning up today.  This after heavy flooding over the weekend.

The downpours turned Highway 81, the town's main thoroughfare, into a rushing river. Workers at businesses along the road were stranded as the water overflowed into their cars.

The rain came down quick and it came down hard. In addition to Highway 81, police say many city streets were also under water. They along with fire crews were busy all night trying to rescue drivers who got stuck in high water.

Police say residential areas also experienced flooding and there are reports that some people had to evacuate their homes. Authorities urged anyone with rising water to call the dispatch center as soon as they noticed it. They also asked all of Duncan to stay home Saturday night because many of the city's streets remained flooded.
