Flood damage from Memorial Day keeps Duncan parks closed

DUNCAN--The flooding woes for the City of Duncan go on.  Two of their biggest parks, Fuqua and Memorial, are still closed weeks after the rains.  A bridge at Memorial Park, just off Highway 81, was ripped from the ground during the storms.  Fuqua Park remains closed tonight because dirt and wood chips that provide cushion beneath the playground equipment all were washed away.

City Manager Clyde Shaw says he hopes the city parks will be opened in the next week or so.   He suggests good alternatives for the youngsters to enjoy are Duncan's public library and the pools.
