Cyril family mourns the loss of their son

CYRIL--Recently, at least five Texoma teens have been killed in car wrecks.  None of these had been wearing seat belts, and sadly, another is added to that list.  A head-on collision Monday killed 16-year-old Dalton Ray Dawdy of Cyril.

Dawdy was a passenger in a friend's car when a pick-up truck coming from the opposite direction crossed over into his lane.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dawdy family told 7NEWS they know that first responders did everything possible to save their son.  They want to send a special thanks to all the officials who responded so quickly.

They are planning for Dalton's service to be held at Cyril High school in the auditorium on Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
