World Blood Donor Day

Lawton, OK--Lawton's Southwest Oklahoma Blood Institute celebrated World Blood Donors Day on Thursday. It's a day that focuses on the repeat donors, rather than a campaign to attract new donors. These repeat volunteers make up a large part of their donor base.

Blood coming out of Oklahoma is known to be among the safest in the world. The donations coming in on this World Blood Donors Day stay in Oklahoma.  There are more than 100 hospitals statewide that SWOBI provides blood to.

If you'd like to donate, the center is open Monday through Saturday.  You can stop by at the location at 211 Southwest "A" avenue.
