"Blitz Build" home finished

Lawton_It's finally finished.  Friday evening, the 3rd annual "Blitz Build", sponsored by the Lawton Board of Realtors and Habitat for Humanity ended its weeklong project, and turned the keys of a new home over to the proud owner, Nancy Coleman.

Coleman and the blitz team have been working all week for today.  They've done it five days straight, in the heat and in the rain, putting on siding, painting trim, laying carpet -- building a home.   "She's been out here every single day, I don't know how many hours she puts in but she's in here...when I leave at night, she's here still.  And last night I left about 10 o'clock," volunteer Nichole Cadena said.

So after all the hard work hammering, sawing, grouting, and painting, Coleman says her favorite part of the house is the front porch.

"Yeah, because the parts fit back together and made the Jesus fish so it's like my house was already blessed," Coleman said.
